Dan Hernandez of Loudonville Named Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity campus chapter

Dan Hernandez of Loudonville was recently elected Treasurer for the Habitat for Humanity campus chapter at Hudson Valley Community College.

The Hudson Valley Habitat for Humanity Club functions as a Habitat for Humanity campus chapter as outlined by Habitat for Humanity International. The chapter partners with Habitat affiliates to build and rehabilitate homes in conjunction with Habitat homeowners; raises funds to support the work of Habitat for Humanity International; advocates for affordable housing; and educates others on their campus and local communities about the mission and work of Habitat for Humanity International..

The college offers 16 intercollegiate athletic programs and approximately 50 chartered clubs and organizations.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 13,500 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 65,000 alumni.
