Erica Shudt of Melrose is active with the Psychology Club at Hudson Valley Community College.

The student, who is studying in the Liberal Arts and Sciences/Humanities & Social Sciences academic program, has been appointed a Vice President in the organization.

The purpose of this club is to expose Hudson Valley students to the different subdisciplines of psychology and to offer students the opportunity for service to the college community. The Psychology Club establishes connections between students and local agencies that use psychological principles and applications.

Hudson Valley Community College has more than 50 chartered student clubs and organizations.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training.
