Jacqulyne Venditti of Troy Named to All New York State Academic Team

Jacqulyne Venditti of Troy, a member of the Hudson Valley Community College student body, was named to the All New York State Community College Academic Team recently.

Nominees for the honor must demonstrate academic excellence and notable service to the college and community. Those who are named to the All-State Academic Team are eligible for scholarships at transfer colleges and universities.

Venditti is studying Nursing at the Troy, NY college.

The All New York State Community College Academic Team is chosen by Phi Theta Kappa, an international academic honor society for students in two-year colleges. Venditti is a member of the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Hudson Valley. PTK recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 13,500 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 70,000 alumni.
