John Karam of Rensselaer Named To Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities

John Karam of Rensselaer was recently honored by acceptance in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

John was chosen by a campus nominating committee for this honor based upon academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and continued potential for success. John was honored for his broad involvement with the college's Engineering Science Club, Math Club and the Foreign Language and Culture Club, as well as various efforts on behalf of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).

John is studying in the Engineering Science academic program at the Troy, NY college.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 80 associate degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 11,500 students and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has 75,000 alumni.
