Maikel Scott of Albany Receives Academic Honor at Hudson Valley Community College

Maikel Scott of Albany was among those recently recognized for academic excellence at the end of the 2012-2013 year at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.

Scott was the recipient of the Award for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Service in the Broadcast Communications Program, which is given to the most accomplished student in the Broadcast Communications graduating class. The cash prize is made possible through a generous donation by the New School, Hudson Valley's partner in the delivery of the Broadcast Communications degree program.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of more than 13,250 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
