Nearly 600 New Students at Hudson Valley Community College for Spring 2017 Term

The spring 2017 incoming class at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY includes nearly 600 new and transfer students, including Benjamin Breiten of Cooperstown, who is studying in the Electrical Engineering Technology-Electronics academic program for the Spring semester.

Students in the college's incoming class come from around the region and around the world to seek an accessible and affordable start to their higher education in one of more than 85 academic degree and certificate programs.

The college's 120-acre campus features 20 buildings with high tech labs and classrooms, a variety of social and study spaces, and impressive cultural and athletic facilities, including the new Outdoor Athletic Complex, which opened this fall.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley offers degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Science; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and an Educational Opportunity Center for academic and career training. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students, and is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and workforce training. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
