Students Honored for Academic Excellence at Hudson Valley Community College

Erika Pelletier of Petersburgh was recently honored for excellence by an academic department at Hudson Valley Community College.

Each year, high-achieving students from each of the more than 80 academic programs at the Troy, NY college are chosen for special recognition by their departments.

Pelletier was given the The Doris and Hy Rosenblum Consideration Award, which is presented to a graduating student who demonstrated the qualities of caring and community service, and carries at least a 3.49 GPA.

Pelletier is studying in the Early Childhood academic program.

Students are selected for honors by faculty and departmental administrative staff.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
