Students Honored for Academic Excellence at Hudson Valley Community College

Richard Osborne of Mechanicville was recently honored for excellence by an academic department at Hudson Valley Community College.

Each year, high-achieving students from each of the more than 80 academic programs at the Troy, NY college are chosen for special recognition by their departments.

Osborne was given the BBL Construction Services Scholarship , which is given to a graduate continuing in the field of civil engineering with an emphasis in construction management and who demonstrates outstanding abilities.

Osborne is studying in the Civil Engineering Technology academic program.

Students are selected for honors by faculty and departmental administrative staff.

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in four schools: Business; Engineering and Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences; and workforce and academic preparation programs offered through the Educational Opportunity Center. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York system, it has an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students, and it is known as a leader in distance learning initiatives and worker retraining. Hudson Valley has more than 75,000 alumni.
