Two Hudson Valley students were recently named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-New York State Academic Team. PTK recognizes students for academic achievement as well as leadership and community service.

Nearly 200 students from Hudson Valley Community College were inducted into the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges. These new members are from the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 induction ceremonies.

More than 3,000 new and transfer students began their higher education at Hudson Valley Community College when the fall semester began on Monday, Aug. 28.

This fall, SUNY Oneonta will welcome approximately 1,100 freshmen and 600 new transfer students hailing from across New York, as well as from 12 other states and countries. New students moved in on Aug. 24, and the fall 2016 semester starts Aug. 29. Our newest Red Dragons will officially join the Oneonta family when they walk through the historic pillars of Old Main during the traditional Pass Through the Pillars ceremony on the campus quad the night before classes begin.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 920 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2016 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Kristin G. Esterberg.

The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, announced that 143 students were honored for outstanding academic achievement at the Honors Convocation held on the Saint Rose campus.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean's List for the Spring Semester 2016. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

The State University of New York at Potsdam will recognize more than 1,000 candidates for graduation during the College's Bicentennial Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The graduating Class of 2016 will be honored at a special ceremony befitting SUNY Potsdam's 200th anniversary.
