Hudson Valley Community College

Twenty students at Hudson Valley Community College were selected to receive the Learning Centers Spirit Award for Fall 2015. The award is given to students who demonstrate the learning strategies and habits associated with academic success acquired through continued use of the Learning Centers.

More than 40 current Hudson Valley Community College students were chosen by their faculty to serve as peer tutors at the school's Learning Assistance Center for the Fall 2015 term.

Student leadership helps fuel a wide variety of clubs and organizations on the Hudson Valley Community College campus.

This fall, SUNY Oneonta will welcome approximately 1,100 freshmen and 600 new transfer students hailing from across New York, as well as from 16 states and countries.Our newest Red Dragons will officially join the Oneonta family when they walk through the historic pillars of Old Main during the traditional Pass through the Pillars ceremony on Aug. 30, the night before classes begin.

Hudson Valley Community College held its 61st annual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at the college's Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY. A total of 2,186 students earned associate degrees and certificates. Of those, 461 graduated with academic honors.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean's List for the spring semester 2015. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

More than 1800 students were named to the President's List at Hudson Valley Community College for the Spring 2015 term. Students named to the President's List earned a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0.

More than 1200 students at Hudson Valley Community College were recently named to the college's Deans' List for the Spring 2015 term. Students named to the Dean's List have have a term grade point average between 3.0 to 3.49.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recognized more than 1,000 candidates for graduation during the College's 2015 Commencement celebrations. SUNY Potsdam honored students who either earned their degree or were eligible to graduate between December 2014 and December 2015.

Students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2015 semester at Clarkson University.

Nearly 200 of the college's top students were honored with a variety of academic achievement awards recently. The awards celebrate the depth of student excellence across the college's more than 75 academic programs.

Eighteen high-achieving students were recently inducted into the Tau Alpha Pi academic honor society at Hudson Valley Community College.

More than 180 students from Hudson Valley Community College were recently inducted into the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges.

The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY, announced that 107 students were honored for outstanding academic achievement at the Honors Convocation held recently on the Saint Rose campus.

Two Hudson Valley students were recently named to the Phi Theta Kappa All-New York State Academic Team. PTK recognizes students for academic achievement as well as leadership and community service.

Four Hudson Valley Community College students have been selected by judges for the "Best of Show" SUNY System Administration Art Show exhibited in the New York State Museum this summer.

Approximately 250 new transfer students began their studies at SUNY Oneonta at the start of the spring semester on Jan. 21.

A total of 1431 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2014 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

A total of 138 SUNY Oneonta students earned Provost's List honors for the fall 2014 semester. To qualify for the Provost's List students must earn a perfect 4.0 GPA while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.
