Currently the second-largest institution of higher learning in the Capital Region of New York State, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs through its three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Local Students Earn Scholarships at Hudson Valley Community College

Local students were among those honored May 4 at the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation Scholarship Appreciation Reception. The event honors and recognizes all HVCC Foundation scholarship recipients for the past academic year.

Local Hudson Valley Community College Students In Engineering Competition

Students of Hudson Valley Community College's Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology and Architectural Technology programs participated in the Regional Student Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe Competition in Potsdam in April. Sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers which has student chapters at each college, the conference was hosted by Clarkson University and SUNY Canton. The following local students designed and constructed a 20-foot long concrete canoe and a model steel bridge capable of supporting 2500 pounds in competition against RPI, RIT, Clarkson, SUNY Canton, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY IT, West Point, Cornell and ETS from Montreal:

Hudson Valley Community College Theatre Club's spring production, Dames at Sea, will run April 26 through May 6 in the Maureen Stapelton Theatre on the Hudson Valley Community College campus in Troy.
